Moonlight (from Bruce Greene)

I called this tune at the Dusty Strings jam today, and while I brought a couple copies of my transcription, there was at least one person who didn’t get a copy and wanted one. So, here it is.

I learned this tune from the Canote brothers at the Wedgwood Alehouse jam on February 18, 2014. They said they got the tune from Bruce Greene, and he almost certainly got it from Wallace Thompson of Green County, Kentucky. Thompson played it in A; Bruce set it in D.
