Tunes played in December, 2015

We had a huge turnout today — I think I counted 17 folks at one point. Thanks to everyone who braved the holiday shopping traffic to come out, and thanks to everyone who was new! I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to welcome you all individually. If you lost a violin practice mute today, drop me a line; I found one as I was closing up. Here’s what we played:

  • Boil the Cabbage Down (A)
  • Cripple Creek (A)
  • Bill Cheatam (A)
  • Cluck Old Hen (A modal)
  • Cold Frosty Morning (A modal)
  • Shady Grove (A modal)
  • Red-Haired Boy (A mix)
  • Sandy Boys (A mix)
  • Angeline the Baker (D)
  • Petronella (D)
  • Soldier’s Joy (D)
  • Needle Case (D)
  • Over the Waterfall (D)
  • Liberty (D)
  • Spotted Pony (D)
  • St. Anne’s Reel (D)
  • Whiskey Before Breakfast (D)

Reminder: there’s no jam in January, as I’ll be heading to the Bellingham Folk Festival on the weekend of the 23rd and the Portland Old-Time Music Gathering on the weekend of the 16th. Happy holidays, and I hope to see you in the new year!
