Conor Byrne Jam Has Moved

Just a quick note to anyone who reads this but isn’t subscribed to the Seattle Old-Time mailing list:

The regular Tuesday jam/old-time social which has been at Conor Byrne in Ballard for the last six years has moved. There’s been talk of trying a few different locations, but the report from last week about the Red Onion Tavern in Madison Park was so good that I suspect that’ll be its new home.

Here’s the announcement:

Our New Tuesday Night Venue: The Red Onion

The first jam last night at the Red Onion was a huge success all around thanks to an amazing turnout (near 30 of us), a great jam host (Tony Mates) and a space that worked in terms of location, parking, size and configuration, chairs, and acoustics. The owner, bartender and customers were all thumbs up. So we’re staying.

One remaining proposal was a start time of 7:30 pm. There were some objections to starting this early. We’ll keep it at 8 pm unless there’s a preponderance of folk who would like to get going earlier. Email me your votes or post to the “Group.”

Our host for next Tuesday, October 15, is Jerry Gallaher

 Tuesday Night Old Time Jam

October 15
The Red Onion Tavern in Madison Park
4210 E Madison
8:00 – 11:00
Ya’ll Come

Again, I can’t thank you all enough for a wonderful time last night. It was a reminder that the physical space can change, but it’s really all about the music and the people.

I’ll try to make it out next week and report back. Oh, and Yahoo Groups appears to be having some difficulties right now, but I believe this should be a link to the Old-Time Seattle group once it’s back up.
